[It's raining outside today, but for once Nonon doesn't seem to mind; she's still in the utter sinkhole that is Violet City, but for the time being, her morale is good. Her money ran out quite some time ago, and she'd been okay with sleeping outside (it was going to take more than that to get her down properly) until that freak snowstorm last week felt the need to hit; seeing as she'd never worked a day in her life (not a proper job, not something that wasn't school and training) the idea of doing that was something almost completely foreign to her, but eventually she'd caved and applied somewhere and gotten hired.

And in the time since, she's discovered the surprisingly unsarcastic utter joy in the equation that is "make muffins = get money."

Sure, she's probably never going to get the flour out of her hair again and half the time she somehow ends up with glaze on her face, but she's found a bakery and they were hiring and she's stronger than she looks, and there's something really satisfying about being able to do things with her hands and see the results, and generally she's doing really well. Singing a bit while she does it, even, and making use of her Ambipom's entirely too many hands to hold trays for her while she works.

Life is actually surprisingly good today.]

This place is actually pretty mundane, for somewhere that has a bunch of magical fire-spitting animals at their disposal. It took a lot of considering it, but I don't think I can really complain about that, though. It's sort of nice to know that even in a place that has something like that, people aren't using them to burn each other's faces off.

(Usually, anyway, I've heard there are a few whackjobs that do that.)

How many of you are from somewhere like this? Where there's not much going on, I mean, and you can just kind of exist.

And if you're from somewhere that's not like this and there's stuff going on all the time, what's it like for you to be living here now? Is it boring for you, or is it sort of a relief?

Well, if it's not controlled, it could be pretty dangerous. Thankfully, Elsa knows how to use them properly now, but...she's still a bit iffy on them. I think she's finally learned how to accept them, instead of trying to pretend they aren't there.

Well, I'd hope so, since you're telling me about them. She's okay with this not being a secret anymore?

Secret's out now, so to speak. And the people in the kingdom don't seem nearly as bothered as they were when they first found out, that's for certain.

Did it go as badly as everyone was afraid it would when they first found out about all that?

Probably worse, actually...

...oh, wow. Did she kill a dignitary or something?

No, no! Elsa would never do something like that, not even on accident. She just kind of...accidentally set off an eternal winter on the day of her coronation and froze over the fjord so no one could get in or out.

It was a total accident, though, and she fixed everything!

I'd actually like to meet your sister one day, because that sounds pretty awesome.

RIGHT?! At the time it was kind of like "what the heeeeck," don't get me wrong, but in hindsight? It was crazy! I'd love for her to come here, too, really, because I miss her a lot. But hopefully one day...

A lot of the best things are the ones that give you that reaction at first, though - I mean, they wouldn't be awesome if they were ordinary, right? So I can see where it might have been sort of scary at first if you're not used to that sort of thing, but hell, once you get past that original reaction...

Maybe she'll show up, though. Most of the people I know haven't, but they do a lot of crazy stuff too, I think you'd like it.

That's true! I mean, that whole day was pretty extraordinary to me, but that was definitely the biggest surprise of them, and that's saying something, considering that's the day I got engaged, even! ...To a jerk, mind you, but engaged nonetheless!

They sound like people worth getting to know, though! I always love meeting new friends, especially ones who do crazy stuff!

Hopefully you kicked the jerk's ass to the curb as soon as you realized you were engaged to a jerk.

Punched him in the face so hard he went flying off a boat, if that counts for anything.

Right, sure, that works too.

[It's how Anna makes friends, really! No verification needed, pretty much saying "hello" to the girl makes her your friend unless you turn out to be a jerk.]

You said you were in Violet, right? I'm actually just about to head out to Goldenrod from there, but I'll be sure to stop by the bakery and get some sweets before I go! Maybe we can even grab a bite or something when you're on break!

Are you traveling out by yourself, or do you have other friends with you?

I met a friend back in New Bark that I've been travelling along with, but he kinda comes and goes as he pleases, pretty much. He's not a bad guy, though. A little rough around the edges, but I think he's nice enough!

Oh really?

Just friends, or are you hoping you won't have to punch this one off a boat, too?

I've got someone waiting for me back home, but I'm not gonna let him pop the question anytime soon. And in regards to my companion and all, I'm pretty sure he's married, but he doesn't like to talk about it.
