So do you guys ever still think about how bizarre this place is, or do you pretty much just get used to it after a while? It's weird as hell, the stuff you just start accepting after a while – you don't even think about how most of us came from a place where cats don't hatch out of eggs.

(...I say "most" because some jerk out there's going to pop up and prove me wrong, you just watch. Even if you also hatch your damn cats, I'm pretty sure there's something here that's out of the ordinary.)

I don't know if there's much point to this, but there's not much point to anything that goes on around here, anyway. I don't know, even if this place is better than whatever's going on back home, sometimes you miss being useful, too. Another thing to get used to, I guess.

...No, really, I am getting sick of the kittens-from-eggs thing. I'm going to have more cats than I do Swablus at this rate.

It sounds like you need to work on keeping a closer eye on your Pokemon, if that's the case.

While I do not come from a world where cats come from eggs, I can understand why they happen to here, if nothing else.

Look, if my horse and my cat want to have some sort of Darcy and Elizabeth love affair, I'm not going to stop them because in this case Darcy can set me on fire whenever I try to ride him and Elizabeth can punch me in the brain.

But I'm interested in this why, if you've got one.

Considering the fact that this world's existence mirrors that of a video game for children, it makes sense that the breeding mechanics would be so...strange. I assume that they chose eggs not only for that reason, but to actually provide an incentive to breed since a trainer could carry eggs with them while on their journey, instead of having to wait around for Pokemon to be born at a breeding center.

...So either this place is some sort of proof that the idea of "if you can think of it, it exists somewhere" and the video game actually brought it into existence, or someone spent a lot of time genetically engineering cats to crap out eggs.

I've chosen to assume the former, since it's easier than trying to explain the hows and whys of every bizarre thing that happens here. It makes it a lot simpler than trying to apply logic where it should never be applied.

Video games are at least something of a challenge, unlike some things people tend to do for fun.

Eh, maybe. Some video games are boring as hell, too - you can't really say there's all that much challenge in Pokemon, even, because anyone can win if they grind enough.

Stuff like DDR is challenging, though. So's stuff like...I don't know, Fire Emblem? The tactical RPGs. The ones where you don't just sit and grind all day, you actually have to have half an idea of what you're doing.

Not that I don't mind Fire Emblem. Or something like the Legend of Zelda series.
